IFIELD ROAD Chelsea lies at the western edge of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea between the Old Brompton and Fulham Roads and runs parallel to the Brompton Cemetery.

Earls Court is the nearest Underground station with the Piccadilly and District lines passing through it at the far end of the street, while there are three useful buses along the Fulham Road at the other end of the street.

From Heathrow Airport take the Underground direct to Earls Court, exit on to Warwick Road and turn left; walk against the one-way traffic until you see Ifield Road merging with yours on the right, while the one-way traffic swings away to the left. The Chelsea Bed & Breakfast at 66 Ifield Road is nearer the Fulham Road end of the street and it will probably take you 10-15 minutes to walk this with heavy luggage.

If you prefer to take a taxi rather than walk from Earls Court station, exit on to Earls Court Road which carries southbound one-way traffic.

Please note the Heathrow Express, though super fast, is not the best option for this London B&B as its terminus Paddington is 4 stations away - and the fare is very much more expensive.

There is also a National Express coach service between Heathrow Airport (from the Central Bus Station) and Victoria Coach Station

From Gatwick Airport take a National Rail train to Victoria station, then either a taxi to Ifield Road or the Underground to Earls Court.

From Stansted Airport take the Stansted Express train to Liverpool Street station, then the Underground to Earls Court. Alternatively, there is a slower but cheaper National Express coach service to Victoria Coach Station

From Victoria/Victoria Coach Station either take a taxi directly to Ifield Road or, if your luggage is light and manageable, take Bus No 211 from Buckingham Palace Road to the Hortensia Road request stop in the Fulham Road (the stop before Chelsea Football Ground).

From St Pancras station (Eurostar travellers) take either a taxi or the Underground to Earls Court.

Car drivers will need to negotiate the A3220 (the Earls Court one-way system) but are advised to drop off their luggage and dispose of their car as quickly as possible, as parking is for resident permit holders only and is not available to visitors. Another deterrent is the Congestion Charging Zone which now covers all of the central area, so it's really best to use London's excellent public transport which is within easy reach of the Chelsea Bed & Breakfast.

Bus No 14, Bus No 414 and Bus No 211 run along the Fulham Road at the end of the street (the nearest stop is the Hortensia Road request stop).

London Transport's wide range of fares can be a bit daunting but the most useful for visitors are the Day Travelcard at £5.30 for Underground and bus, the Day Bus Pass at £3.50, or the stored value Oyster card which can be electronically topped up as you use it. Single fares on the Underground are £4 (including from Heathrow) while single bus fares are £2 - but with an Oyster card all fares are considerably cheaper. National Express coach fares range from £4-10.
